Olivia was born and raised in Allendale, Michigan. She spent her childhood on the family farm and Lake Michigan. When it came time to go off to college, she simply swapped one Great Lake for another. Olivia is in her second year at Northern Michigan University where she is majoring in Environmental Science with a concentration in Natural Resources. At NMU, Olivia is involved with many student organizations, including serving as the vice president for Students for Sustainability and Garden Club, and the student co-coordinator for the Northern Climate Network. When she’s not an unofficial resident of the library, you can find Olivia rock climbing, gardening, skiing, camping, cross stitching, and ice climbing around Marquette.

Dylan is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to Michigan during middle school and instantly fell in love with the inland oceans surrounding his new home. Dylan's love for the Great Lakes grew as he spent countless hours riding his bike from his home in Kalamazoo to Lake Michigan. Dylan is an accomplished bike rider now after riding the length of Lake Michigan and completing the Tour Divide, a mountain bike race from Canada to New Mexico. When he is not studying Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management, Art, or Marketing he is listening to NPR, skiing, fly fishing, or knitting a scarf.

Though Ryan didn’t grow up in the Great Lakes State (that’s what they call Michigan, fittingly), he’s spent his entire life roaming around the Great Lakes and falling in a deep-seated and tenacious love with them. His admiration for Lake Superior blossomed when he moved to Marquette, Michigan to attend Northern Michigan University in 2015. Away from studying Neuroscience and Spanish, Ryan spends his time exploring the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan (usually by foot or bike) or making terrible jokes. He hasn’t toured on bike before, but he’s super stoked for this new adventure and the opportunity to hear the stories about the powerful Gitche Gumee.
